Dozens gathered outside Planned Parenthood in downtown Nashville for the kick-off of the Spring Nashville 40 Days for Life: The Beginning of the End of Abortion Campaign Wednesday, March 2.
The Metro Nashville Council passed a resolution declaring Thursday, March 3, as a city-wide day of prayer for the people of Ukraine. Mayor John Cooper, Vice Mayor Jim Shulman and council members gathered at the steps of the Metro Courthouse to read the proclamation and to pray for the people of Ukraine. Father Eric Fowlkes, pastor of the Cathedral of the Incarnation, was one of the religious leaders who offered a prayer. The service was organized by Metro Councilmember Kathleen Murphy, a parishioner at St. Ann Church. She represents District 24 in West Nashville.
