Sister Marianne Poole recently celebrated 60 years a Sister of the Blessed Sacrament, the religious order founded by St. Katharine Drexel to educate African American and indigenous children in the United States. The order founded and taught at several schools in Nashville, including the former St. Vincent de Paul School in North Nashville. Sister Marianne works at Smithson Craighead Academy, a charter school in Nashville, as a teacher's aide.
