Father Charles Strobel, the founder of Room In The Inn and an advocate for the homeless who died on Sunday, Aug. 6, was memorialized during a community gathering on Friday, Aug. 11. The gathering was held at First Horizon Park, the home of the Nashville Sounds minor league baseball team, in honor of Father Strobel's lifelong love of the game. A picture of Father Strobel was shown on the field's electronic scoreboard during the celebration and overlooked some of the dignitaries on hand for the celebration, including Bishop J. Mark Spalding, right, and Phil Bredesen, left, former mayor of Nashville and governor of Tennessee.
