At national memorial, Cardinal Gregory prays for all who died of COVID-19

The pre-inauguration service included prayer, music, lighting of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool with 400 lights in honor of lives lost in the pandemic.

“It is long past time to abolish the death penalty from our state and federal laws,” USCCB chairmen said in a statement.
