With the end of the school year fast approaching, Catholic schools in the Diocese of Nashville will be hosting commencement exercises to send the Class of 2022 on to the next stage of their lives.
The various graduation ceremonies will be highlighted by those for the three Catholic high schools in the diocese.
Father Ryan High School will graduate 201 members of the Class of 2022. The Baccalaureate Mass, when the winners of the Bishop David Choby ’65 Christian Service Awards will be announced, will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 13, at the Catignani-Drennan Fieldhouse on the Father Ryan campus.
The male and female winners of the General Excellence Award, given to the students showing, to the highest degree, all the qualities the school seeks to promote in its students, will be announced at the commencement exercises to be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 14, at the Curb Center on the campus of Belmont University.
The names of the class valedictorian and salutatorian were not released before the Tennessee Register’s deadline.
Pope John Paul II Preparatory School will graduate 135 members of the Class of 2022. The Baccalaureate Mass, during which the Bishop Kmiec Award will be presented to the male and female students who best represent the mission of the school, will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Hendersonville.
The commencement ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 15, at Pope Prep’s Jim Carell Athletic Complex.
The names of the Class of 2022 valedictorian and salutatorian were not released before press time.
St. Cecilia Academy will graduate 64 members of the Class of 2022. The Baccalaureate mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 20, on the White House Lawn on the Dominican Campus in Nashville, home to the academy.
Graduation ceremonies will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, May 20, also on the White House Lawn.
The valedictorian for the Class of 2022 is Eleanor Mary Rodgers and the salutatorian is Rachel Elizabeth Smola. Isabella Dizon Tiamson has been named this year’s St. Cecilia Girl, the highest honor the school bestows on a graduating senior each year.
Aquinas College, the only Catholic college in the diocese, hold its commencement exercises for seven graduates on Saturday, May 7.
