Faculty, staff and students at St. Joseph School in Madison were not in their classrooms to celebrate the end of the school year this year because Catholic schools in the Diocese of Nashville transitioned to distance learning to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. So, on Saturday, May 9, the staff invited students and their families to drive through the school parking lot for a Sumer Send-off. As the families drove by, the school’s teachers and staff lined the drive to shout congratulations and good wishes to the students and their families. Teacher Suzanne Smolen, holding a sign for her first-grade class, waves to a passing student.
