The annual gala to benefit the Advancement of Catholic Education endowment will once again be an in-person event this year.

“We want to celebrate coming back together, making it a fun evening,” said Jessica Gravagna, special events coordinator for the Diocese of Nashville’s Office of Stewardship and Development. Last year’s event was held virtually because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“There is so much good going on in Catholic schools,” Gravagna said, including an increase in the diocesan schools’ enrollment while nationally enrollment numbers are down.

The gala will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, in the Catholic Pastoral Center’s Bishop’s Hall.

The evening will include dinner, live music and a celebration of Catholic education. The winners of the Christ the Teacher Award and other honors in areas such as innovation, teaching the faith and others will be recognized during the evening.

Bishop J. Mark Spalding and Superintendent of Schools Rebecca Hammel also will address the gathering.

Tickets for the gala are $100 per person, and sponsorship opportunities are available, Gravagna said. To purchase tickets and for more information about sponsorships visit dioceseofnasville.com/ACE.

The proceeds from the gala will go toward the Advancement of Catholic Education endowment, which funds tuition assistance and other improvements in the diocese’s schools.

“The event is open to anyone and everyone who has a heart for Catholic education,” Gravagna said.
