Aquinas College brought its year-long celebration of the 60th anniversary of its founding to a close with a picnic for alumni, faculty, staff, students, and friends on Saturday, May 14.
The Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia Congregation opened the school in the fall of 1961 as Aquinas Junior College to prepare their young sisters to become teachers in Catholic schools, bringing Christ’s message of mercy and truth to generations of children.
Over the years, Aquinas has offered a variety of programs to meet the changing needs of the Church and community.
Today, the school is focused on its core mission of forming sisters to be teachers.
