Catholic members of the American Heritage Girls, Girl Scouts USA and Scouts BSA recently received their religious emblems during a special Mass celebrated by Bishop J. Mark Spalding at the Cathedral of the Incarnation.
The Catholic Committee on Scouting in the Diocese of Nashville was able to take precautions, such as mask-wearing and social distancing, to celebrate the Mass despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
Among those receiving religious emblems during the Mass celebrated on Sunday, Oct. 25, were:
• American Heritage Girls: Amilyn Turner, I Live My Faith emblem; Alexis Turner, Family of God.
• Scouts BSA: Liam Kerr and Mariana Isabella Torres Rivera, Light of Christ religious emblem; Donna Abigail Doyle, Caeleigh Kerr, Delaney Kerr, Hans Lussing and Justin Wieczorek, Parvuli Dei; Christina Laporte, Evelyn Stephan, Luke Ellis, Nicholas Held, Connor Hubble, Vance Hutchings, Gabriel Speyer, Noah Landry and Luke Speyer, Altare Dei.
• Girl Scouts USA: Hadley Fracass, God is Love; Gabriella Kolinsky, Family of God. The Girl Scouts USA religious emblems were awarded in February 2020.
Father Gervan Menezes and Father Pat Kibby were also present at the Mass and helped the Catholic Committee on Scouting with the presentation of the religious emblems.
