The Mid-South Regional Charismatic Conference, on hiatus because of the COVID pandemic, will return July 14-15 at St. Ignatius of Antioch Church at 601 Bell Road.

The primary speaker for the conference will be Father Juan Pablo Orozco of the Companions of the Cross.

As a college student, Father Orozco experienced a conversion while attending a charismatic prayer meeting. “I was healed from various diseases, sport injuries, and also from depression,” he has written. “I literally felt a warm hand touch my back during the prayer, and so I turned around to see if there was anyone behind me, and when I discovered that there wasn’t anyone there I collapsed on my knees and cried out to the Lord, knowing it was Him who was touching me.”

The theme for this year’s conference, the first since 2019, will be “Christ is the Victor Over the Darkness of This Age.”

The Companions of the Cross will provide the praise and worship music throughout the conference.

The conference will be held 7-9:30 p.m. Friday, July 14, and 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. and 7-9:30 p.m. Saturday, April 15.

Father Orozco will celebrate Mass at 9 a.m. Saturday, and there will be a healing service that night.

The cost is $40 for individuals, $60 for a married couple, and $70 for a family. The price includes lunch on Saturday.

Everyone is invited to attend, said Teresa Seibert, associate liaison for the charismatic renewal for the Diocese of Nashville.
