The Holy Rosary Academy graduating class of 1968 will enjoy memories and renewed friendships at its class reunion at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at the Party Fowl restaurant in Donelson.
Holy Rosary alumnus Mike Harper came up with the idea after not having seen his old friends in person in a very long time. “I’ve kept in touch with several of our classmates through Facebook, but it’s not the same as getting to interact with people face to face,” he said. “The last time we had an actual class reunion was in 2002. And I don’t use social media that much anyways.”
It’s difficult to keep in touch with childhood friends when you’re an adult, he added. Furthermore, of the 60 students who formed their graduating class, several have died over the years and most of them have gone their separate ways.
“We’ve spread out across the country and our lives have gone in so many different directions,” Harper said. “Some of us still talk to each other, but as a group it’s been challenging for all of us to stay close. We haven’t really been able to do that.”
He is looking forward to seeing his old friends again and invites all of them to do the same. “If you’re looking for an opportunity to rekindle relationships with old friends and relive all the good times we shared at Holy Rosary, come join us for our class reunion. It’ll be a lot of fun,” he said.
