Olive ‘Doll’ Hunt, mother of priest, dies at 91

Olive “Doll” Connor Hunt, 91, the mother of Father Mark Hunt, died on Friday, March 19, 2021.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at St. Henry Church in Nashville, where Mrs. Hunt was a parishioner. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Mrs. Hunt was born and raised in Nashville, the daughter of Olive G. and Michael A. Connor Sr.

She was an active member of St. Henry Church and “treasured the many friendships she made as a member in the Ladies of Charity, Centennial Club, Colonna Club and in her bridge clubs,” recalled her family. “Doll was a loving and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her smile and sense of humor will be remembered.”

Mrs. Hunt was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence Martin Hunt, Jr.; and her sisters, Marie C. Hobbs, Helen C. Williams and Anne Connor.

Survivors include her daughter Peggy Hunt of Nashville; sons Father Mark Hunt of Nashville and Michael (Christina) Hunt of Mobile, Alabama; grandsons Matthew, Christopher, Thomas and William Hunt of Mobile; her brother, Michael A. (Angela) Connor Jr. of Raleigh, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews and their families.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Ladies of Charity, 2216 State St., Nashville, TN 37203. Marshall Donnelly Combs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
