Chris Casa Santa is once again offering a dinner and Mass at the grotto he has had built in his back yard. The grotto was inspired by the iconic grotto at the University of Notre Dame.

Bishop J. Mark Spalding blessed the new addition to Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Springfield on Sunday, Oct. 24. The addition includes a new entrance to the church, with a narthex, bathrooms, cry room, bride's room, and additional seating. Bishop Spalding, Father Gervan Menezes, right, and Oscar Romero, a seminarian for the Diocese of Nashville, prepare the incense in the new narthex before the Mass.

Dr. Edward Sri, a theologian, speaker and author, was one of the keynote speakers at the Duc In Altum Schools Collaborative Summit, hosted by St. Cecilia Academy in Nashville Oct. 20-22. The Summit drew more than 150 Catholic school administrators and teachers from across the country.

The Diocese of Nashville hosted the 2021 Diocesan Fiscal Management Conference Oct. 3-6 at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. The conference attracted about 700 fiscal management professionals working for dioceses across the United States and beyond. Several employees of the Nashville Diocese were among the presenters at the conference. Bishop J. Mark Spalding celebrated Mass for the conference on Tuesday, Oct. 5 at Sagrado Corazon in the Catholic Pastoral Center. Concelebrating with him were, from left, Bishop Edward Scharfenberger of Albany, New York, Bishop Barry Knestout of Richmond, Virginia, and Archbishop Philip Anyolo of the Archdiocese of Kisumu, Kenya.
