The Office of Faith Formation for the Diocese of Nashville hosted the Eucharistic Revival Conference on Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Catholic Pastoral Center. The conference is part of the three-year, national Eucharistic Revival sponsored by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. Dr. Timothy O'Malley of the University of Notre Dame, makes a point during his talk at the conference.

The First Horizon Foundation presented a check for $25,000 to Catholic Charities, Diocese of Nashville Thursday, Nov. 17, in Bishop's Conference Room at the Catholic Pastoral Center. Judy Orr, Catholic Charities executive director; Brian Cooper, chancellor and chief operating officer for the diocese; and Ashley Linville, director of the Office of Stewardship and Development, accepted the donation on behalf of Catholic Charities and the Diocese of Nashville. The check was presented by Brian G. Reeves, senior vice president of commercial banking at First Horizon, and Renee Drake, executive vice president of commercial banking at First Horizon. Kristen Rainey, assistant director of Marriage and Family for the Office of Faith Formation, has volunteered to clean and polish the archived chalices, ciboriums and patens prior to loaning them out. Here, she's seen polishing the JFK Memorial Chalice which was donated by the Knights of Columbus Desoto Council #517. The chalice will be used by the Office of Faith Formation for its various events and retreats.

Dozens of Young Catholic Professionals across the Diocese of Nashville were afforded the opportunity to experience one of the unique gifts of the Catholic Church during the monthly meeting of YCP Nashville on Thursday, Nov. 18, in the Cathedral of the Incarnation’s Fleming Center. Three relics of St. Padre Pio were available for veneration with the opportunity for attendees to touch personal sacramentals to them, creating third class relics of their own. Shawn Curley, a parishioner of the Cathedral of the Incarnation, venerates the relics.

Fourteen students ranging from fifth- through eighth-grade competed in the 2022 Diocese of Nashville Catholic Schools Office Spelling Bee Wednesday, Nov. 16, at the Catholic Pastoral Center. The competition lasted a total of 13 rounds before Laila Murdock, an eighth-grade student at Holy Rosary Academy, was crowned the winner. All participants of the competition as well as the runners up of each school were presented with a certificate of achievement and gift bag. The competitors also received a medal.
