Events and happenings around the diocese: cooking classes, Labor Day festival, and more

Churches, schools, and organizations throughout the Diocese of Nashville have plenty of upcoming events to add to your calendar. Check out the events below. 

Cooking Classes

The Cathedral of the Incarnation is continuing to host a series of International Cooking Classes through November. The next class is at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 22. Explore the cuisine of countries such as Italy, Spain, France, Japan, Argentina, Mexico, and more. The monthly classes cost $25 each. Young Catholic Professionals Speaker Series

The next session of the Young Catholic Professionals Speaker Series is 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, at St. Ann Church’s Breen Hall. Deacon Chris Simpson will be the featured speaker. To RSVP for the free event, visit linktr.ee/ycpnashville. 

St. Ignatius of Antioch Church Benefit

St. Ignatius of Antioch Church will host a benefit festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at the church. The event will include a craft fair, food sales, beer tastings, and more. There will also be live music provided by Lisa Dotolo. To purchase tickets, visit stignatiuscc.com, and click on “online giving.” Vendor tables are available for $50 each. On Air with the Tennessee Register

The next episode of On Air with the Tennessee Register, a new program on Nashville Catholic Radio, premieres at 11:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28. The monthly show, which airs the fourth Monday of each month at 11:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., is hosted by Erik Ritland and Katie Peterson. Tune in to 100.5 FM, visit NashvilleCR.com, or download the Nashville Catholic Radio App to listen to this new informative program and enjoy the Tennessee Register from another perspective. 

Labor Day Festival

Sacred Heart Church and School in Lawrenceburg will host its 90th annual Labor Day Festival from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4, at 220 Berger Street, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The all-day event will include games, vendors, food trucks, live music, a silent auction, and more. For more information, call 931-762-6125. 

Director of Religious Education Position Available

SEARCH Retreat Registration

Registration is open for all 2023-2024 SEARCH Retreat weekends. Scheduled weekends include Sept. 8-10, Nov. 10-12, Dec. 1-3, Jan. 12-14, and March 1-3.
