Some of the fastest runners in area Catholic elementary schools were crowned as champions at the annual Father Ryan Distance Classic. The races are held according to grade and gender, featuring boys and girls in grades four through eight. This year’s winners were, from left: Hadley Holmann, Christ the King, fourth grade girls; Matthew Witkowski, St. Rose of Lima, fourth grade boys; Caroline Curran, St. Joseph, fifth grade girls; Blake Hestermann, St. Matthew, fifth grade boys; Madelyn Brock, St. Rose of Lima, sixth grade girls; Lucas York, St. Rose of Lima, sixth grade boys; Lana Jean Wylie, St. Rose of Lima, seventh grade girls; Ben Williams, St. Bernard Academy, seventh grade boys; Isabella Baltz, St. Bernard Academy, eighth grade girls; Charlie Slattery, St. Bernard Academy, eighth grade boys.
