Bishop J. Mark Spalding has announced the following appointments:
• Father Rodolfo Rivera has been released from his assignment as Parochial Vicar of Sagrado Corazón Church and has been appointed temporary administrator of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, effective Sept. 7, 2023.
Father Rivera was ordained as a priest of the Diocese of Nashville in 2016.
Father Fernando Lopez, the pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, announced that after a long period of discernment he intends to seek laicization and will return to his native Mexico. Bishop Spalding has released him from his responsibilities as pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
• Deacon José Ferreras has been appointed to serve at Immaculate Conception Church in Clarksville, effective Sept. 7, 2023. Deacon Ferreras is coming to the Diocese of Nashville from the Diocese of Orange, California, where he previously served.
