The latest improvements to the ServPro baseball field at Pope John Paul II Preparatory School were blessed and dedicated before the Knights game against Father Ryan High School on Monday, March 21.
Fences along the first and third base foul lines have been replaced by brick walls. Father Luke Wilgenbusch, associate pastor of Our Lady of the Lake Church in Hendersonville and assistant director of vocations for the Diocese of Nashville, blessed and dedicated the new walls.
Alex Isaacson, a 2010 graduate of Pope Prep and a former first baseman for the baseball team, threw out the first pitch representing ServPro and the Isaacson family.
The Father Ryan Irish won the game, the first of a three-game series, 8-0. The Irish took the second game at home 13-0, before Pope Prep claimed the third and final game of the series 11-9 on its home field.
Supporters of the Pope Prep baseball program can purchase engraved customized bricks that will cap the walls. A 4-inch-by-8-inch brick with room for three lines of engraved text is available for $150 and an 8-by-8 brick with six lines of text is available for $250.
