More than 80 teachers gathered for the Catholic Schools Office Pre-Kindergarten Professional Development Workshop “Pre-K Rocks” July 27-29 in Bishop’s Hall at the Catholic Pastoral Center. The teachers completed several hours of professional development in literacy, math, speech and language development, as well as activities. Jamie Grigsby, pre-kindergarten teacher at St. Ann, Sherri Forsythe, pre-kindergarten teacher at Sacred Heart School in Loretto, and Pam Telfer, pre-kindergarten teacher at Immaculate Conception in Clarksville, brought their 36 years of experience teaching pre-kindergarten for diocesan schools to help plan the event. They said having a pre-kindergarten focused workshop allows teachers to collaborate and bounce ideas off each other as well as boost morale.
