Best friends Evelyn Thallemer and Matilda Crosswy, second-grade students at Overbrook Catholic School, raised nearly $33,000 for The Covenant School by making and selling beaded bracelets for adults and children. The bracelets feature six heart beads to represent the six victims of The Covenant School Shooting, which happened on March 27. Part of the money, approximately $17,000, will go toward purchasing a therapy dog for the students, which will be delivered to Covenant in the fall. The rest of the money is at the discretion of Covenant School to decide how to use it. Evelyn Thallemer and Matilda Crosswy, second-grade students at Overbrook Catholic School, smile as they listen to their classmates.

Several churches and schools throughout the Diocese of Nashville have been celebrating May Crownings throughout the month of May in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Church of the Assumption's celebration was led by the newly formed Children of Mary Circle on Sunday, May 7, at the statue outside the church rectory. The event included a procession, prayers and music while each of the children of the parish placed a flower in front of Mary before 10-year-old Sofia Valente crowned Mary with the handmade crown the Children of Mary group created. Sisters Marielena and Gabriela Woodard lead the procession with the crown.
