Most Reverend J. Mark Spalding, bishop of Nashville, along with several priests and deacons of the Diocese of Nashville as well as Deacon Sean Smith of the Diocese of Knoxville, gathered for the funeral Mass of Father Paul Altman Hostettler on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at the Cathedral of the Incarnation. Father Hostettler, who recently celebrated his 100th birthday, was ordained a priest of the diocese on Jun 3, 1950. Bishop Spalding blesses the casket with holy water.

Nearly 800 youth from across the Diocese of Nashville and beyond gathered for Holy Fire Nashville on Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Catholic Pastoral Center in Nashville. Youth were able to listen to praise and worship music, hear the testimonies of others, participate in Eucharistic adoration, and end the day with Mass celebrated by Bishop J. Mark Spalding. Hundreds of middle schoolers took part in the festivities.
