Catholic Business League Meeting
The next meeting of the Catholic Business League is at 7:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, in the Cathedral of the Incarnation’s Fleming Center. Three leaders of the Nashville music industry – Josh Easler, promotions executive at Sony and head of the new Sony imprint RECORDS; Tom Lord, an executive with Red Light Management; and Jim Reyland, owner and president of Audio Productions – are the special guests for the event. Magnificat Breakfast Meal
The Our Lady of Good Success Magnificat Chapter of Middle Tennessee will host its first Breakfast Meal from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 19, at the Catholic Pastoral Center in Nashville. The breakfast will feature Father Donald Calloway of the Congregation of Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception as the guest speaker. Cost is $43 per person. Schola Cantorum of the Pacific
The Schola Cantorum of the Pacific, a liturgical cantorale based in Los Angeles and Wrightwood, California, will perform “From Gregorian to Gospel,” a concert of sacred music, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at St. Mary of the Seven Sorrows Church in downtown Nashville. The choir will also sing at the 5 p.m. vigil Mass prior to the concert. While the concert is free, donations are appreciated. For more information, email information@pacificschola.org.
Cooking Classes
The Cathedral of the Incarnation is continuing to host a series of International Cooking Classes through November. The next class is at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 22. Explore the cuisine of countries such as Italy, Spain, France, Japan, Argentina, Mexico, and more. The monthly classes cost $25 each. On Air with the Tennessee Register
The next episode of On Air with the Tennessee Register, a new program on Nashville Catholic Radio, premieres at 11:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28. The monthly show, which airs the fourth Monday of each month at 11:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., is hosted by Erik Ritland and Katie Peterson. Women’s Pilgrimage with Sister Maria Caeli, OP
Yana Ancelle, a parishioner of Mother Teresa Church in Nolensville, is organizing a women’s retreat to three national shrines in Wisconsin Sept. 7-10, in honor of Mother Mary’s birthday. The retreat, which will include visits to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion in New Franken, Wisconsin, the National Shrine of St. Joseph in De Pere, Wisconsin, and the Basilica and National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians at Holy Hill in Hubertus, Wisconsin, will be led by Sister Maria Caeli, OP. Cost is $500 per person and includes hotel rooms, meals, and transportation to and from the airport. Sign-ups are due by Tuesday, Aug. 15.
