Children ages 7 and older are invited to a free Drawing Workshop with Angie Bosio of Angie’s Saint Magnets at St. Mary’s Bookstore from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28. Additionally, children of all ages are called to enter an All Saints Costume Contest hosted by St. Mary’s Bookstore via Instagram and in-store during the event.
Bosio is the director of youth ministry at St. Stephen Catholic Community in Old Hickory, where she has served for more than 22 years. She established Angie’s Saint Magnets in 2018 as a way to bring her hobby of art to others.
“Creating these original, hand-drawn saint images in a medium for others to enjoy and share as gifts is a blend of both my ministry and my art,” Bosio said. “I am blessed by the process of creating these saint images.”
The Drawing Workshop will be held in three 30-minute time slots at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and noon. Throughout the workshops, Bosio will demonstrate character and motion drawing, focusing on the saints. Drawing paper and colored pencils will be provided and children will get coloring sheets to take home.

The All Saints Costume Contest is for children of all ages. Dress as your favorite saint in celebration of the upcoming All Saints Day on Nov. 1. Participants will get one entry into the contest for having a parent or guardian post their picture on Instagram and tag @stmarysbookstore. Children will get two entries into the drawing for attending the event on Oct. 28. Children do not have to participate in the drawing workshop to be entered into the costume contest. Winners will be drawn at random from the entries submitted.
All submissions are due by 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 30, and winners will be announced on Wednesday, Nov. 1. There will be one first place winner and one second place winner. First place will receive a prize bundle, including a copy of the new book “Through the Year with Tomie De Paola,” one Angie’s Saint Magnet, and a $25 St. Mary’s Bookstore gift card. Second place will receive one Angie’s Saint Magnet of choice.
