A new steeple is lifted into place at the Church of the Assumption in Nashville, TN on Wednesday, 15 December 2021. The steeple was repaired after much of the church was damaged when a tornado swept across Middle Tennessee on March 3, 2020. Father Bede Price has been overseeing the repair work at the church.

The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe was celebrated by Hispanic communities at parishes throughout the diocese on Dec. 11 and 12. Bishop J. Mark Spalding celebrated Mass for the feast day at Sagrado Corazon Church and Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of the Americas, unborn children and the New Evangelization, is an important religious and national feast for Mexico, commemorating the Blessed Virgin's appearance to St. Juan Diego, a poor Mexican Indian, in present day Mexico City in the 16th century. Bishop Spalding prays silently during Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe.
