The competitive cheerleading teams at the two diocesan high schools, Pope John Paul II Preparatory School and Father Ryan High School, both qualified for the Universal Cheerleaders Association’s high school nationals competition held at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, Feb. 11-13. Both teams advanced to the semifinals, and while warming up for the next round of competition found themselves assigned to practice areas next to each other. So the two teams took a break for a group photo. Although both teams performed well, neither qualified to advance to the finals.
