The Serra Club of Williamson County hosted the seminarians of the Diocese of Nashville during their monthly meeting Thursday, Aug. 4, at the St. Philip of the Apostle Church Community Center in Franklin. The second annual event is a final farewell for the seminarians before they leave to continue their studies. Throughout the dinner, members of the Serra Club talked with the seminarians, letting them know of their support. Throughout the year, members of the club send prayer cards to seminarians to assure them of their prayers. Father Luke Wilgenbusch, director of Vocations, introduces the seminarians to the Serra Club members.

The 140th Knights of Columbus Supreme Convention kicked off with an Opening Concert and Annual Awards Session Monday, Aug. 1, at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. The Sewell family of Douglasville, Georgia, were named the International Family of the Year during the Awards Session. Family patriarch Robert Sewell of the Saint John Paul II Council 10821 has been a knight for 15 years.

The Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia Congregation welcomed eight new sisters as they made their final profession of vows during the Mass for the Rite of Perpetual Religious Profession Monday, July 25, at the Cathedral of the Incarnation. The Mass was celebrated by Archbishop Christophe Pierre, Apostolic Nuncio to the United States. The eight sisters lay prostrate during the Litany of the Saints.

Archbishop Christophe Pierre, Apostolic Nuncio to the United States, visited the Diocese of Nashville to celebrate the Mass for the Rite of Perpetual Religious Profession for eight sisters of the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia Congregation on Monday, July 25, at the Cathedral of the Incarnation.
