Mother Teresa Church in Nolensville officially celebrated its one-year anniversary on Sept. 5. Since its formation, the community has grown to include 520 registered families. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul District Council of Nashville, Tennessee Inc., and Ascension Saint Thomas Health System are collaborating to provide prescriptions to those in need through the Prescription Assistance Program following approval received from Bishop J. Mark Spalding during a meeting Wednesday, Sept. 22, in Bishop’s Conference Room at the Catholic Pastoral Center. During the meeting, representatives of the St. Vincent de Paul District Council of Nashville, including President Ron Szejner, Treasurer Joseph Bibeau, and Council Member Mark Gunning, and representatives of Ascension including Chief Mission Officer Greg Pope and Pharmacy Manager Ashley Bennett, spoke with Bishop Spalding as well as Brian Cooper, chancellor and chief operating officer for the Diocese of Nashville, and Father John Hammond, judicial vicar and vicar general, and answered their questions. Bishop Spalding offers a prayer to end the meeting.

The annual Advancement in Catholic Education Awards Event was held Thursday, Sept. 15, in Bishops Hall at the Catholic Pastoral Center in Nashville. During the evening, attendees heard from alumni of diocesan Catholic schools and witnessed the giving of several awards to school leaders and administrators. Attendees of the ACE event listen to a video message from 2022 Pope John Paul II Preparatory School graduate Stephen Strickland about what receiving a Catholic education meant to her.

The Diocese of Nashville's Office of Media and Evangelization officially kicked off its newest partnership with News Channel 2 with the recording of the first of 10 segments highlighting the 16 diocesan schools Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the WKRN Studio in South Nashville. The segment, featuring Dr. Rebecca Hammel, superintendent of schools, and Franchelle Jaeger, a Catholic school parent, will air during the new lifestyle Local on 2 Show, at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22. Jaeger, Dr. Hammel, and Silvia Castañeda, WKRN southern trendspotter, smile at the camera as the taping begins.

Mary, Queen of Angels Assisted Living was recognized by LeadingAge Tennessee as one of three Innovators in Action for its Queen's Court Program during the 2022 LeadingAge Tennessee Annual Conference and Trade Show Sept. 13-14 at Franklin Marriott Cool Springs in Franklin. Queen's Court celebrates residents of Mary Queen who have lived in the facility for five years or more. The newly installed LED system illuminates the stained glass and lights the steeple in the liturgical color of the day at Christ the King Church in Nashville, TN on Wednesday, 16 February 2022.The project also made the facility ADA compliant with a new entryway that include a reworked staircase in front of the church.
