For three days, the pre-kindergarten teachers throughout the Diocese of Nashville Catholic schools gathered at the Catholic Pastoral Center in Nashville for the Pre-K Rocks Professional Development Conference July 19-21. The teachers heard from various speakers and took part in activities throughout the conference.

More than 100 youth gathered at Pope John Paul II Preparatory School in Hendersonville to learn what it means "To live and compete like Christ" as they took part in the Tate Athletic Skills Clinic on Tuesday, July 18, at the Jim Carell Athletic Complex. The event was hosted by Golden Tate, a 2007 graduate of Pope Prep and former National Football League wide receiver. Participants, who ranged in age from incoming third- through eighth-grade, learned about stretching, throwing, catching, kicking, hydration, running, hand-eye coordination, breathing techniques, strength improvement, and more.

The Zomi Catholic Community of Nashville gathered July 7-9 at St. Edward Church for their fourth Eucharistic Congress. The event included catechesis, fellowship, adoration, confession opportunities, and more. Mass was also held Saturday morning at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and Sunday afternoon at the Cathedral of the Incarnation. Deacon Francis Kham places the exposed Blessed Sacrament in the monstrance upon the altar at St. Edward.

Nearly 1000 youth in first through 12th-grade learned about salvation history and the Sorrowful Mysteries of the rosary this summer as Totus Tuus was brought to 14 different parishes throughout the Diocese of Nashville over the months of June and July. Participants of Totus Tuus at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Fayetteville play a game of Sailor or Ship on Thursday, July 13.

Catholic young adults in Dickson, Tennessee are learning that holiness is found in community and fellowship as a new Young Adult Ministry Group is underway. More than a dozen young adults ranging in age from 16 to 32 gathered at St. Christopher Church in Dickson on Tuesday, July 12, for the first monthly supper, which featured food, fellowship, and a talk from Sister Perpetua, OP. Sister Perpetua shares a lively conversation with the young men who came to the supper.
