Members of the St. Teresa Syro-Malabar Mission in Nashville gathered to celebrate the feast of their patron, Mother Teresa of Kolkata, with a Mass, luncheon and auction on Saturday, Sept. 11, at St. Pius X Church. The Syro-Malabar Church is the second largest Church among the Eastern Catholic Churches. St. Thomas the Apostle founded the Syro-Malabar Church, otherwise called the Church of St. Thomas Christians, in South India.

Mother Teresa Church in Nolensville, the newest parish in the Diocese of Nashville, celebrated its first Masses on Sunday, Sept. 5, the feast day of the parish's patron, St. Teresa of Kolkata, at Nolensville Elementary School. Father Anthony Stewart, the pastor of the parish, welcomed people to Mass "on this historic day." Father Stewart and Father Joe McMahon, pastor of Holy Family Church in Brentwood, pray over the Eucharist during the Consecration.
