During spring break week, a group of employees from the Catholic Pastoral Center spent a day helping to reorganize several rooms at St. Pius X Classical Academy. Superintendent of Schools Rebecca Hammel helps reorganize a room that will be used to store teacher supplies and to have faculty meetings.

The Diocese of Nashville hosted Holy Fire Nashville for more than 900 youth and adults Saturday, Oct. 1, in Sagrado Corazon Church at the Catholic Pastoral Center. The event was put on by EQ Saints and Declan Weir Production, Inc., in partnership with the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry. The event was MC’d by musician Dana Catherine, and included performances by Catholic musicians PJ Anderson and Joe Melendrez, keynote addresses by Noelle Garcia, a Catholic recording artist and speaker. Attendees also had opportunities to receive the sacrament of reconciliation and attend Adoration, before ending the day with Mass celebrated by Bishop J. Mark Spalding. Adult leaders were invited to dance on the stage during the musical warm-up.

The St. Vincent de Paul Youth Society at St. Patrick Church in McEwen showed off their Vincentian quality of service by preparing and serving a dinner to leaders of the community including Bishop J. Mark Spalding, Father Zack Kirangu, pastor of St. Patrick, Humphreys County Sherriff Chris Davis, and the Dominican Sisters who teach at St. Patrick School on Tuesday, Sept. 27. Twelve-year-old Kendall McNeill, a seventh grade student at St. Patrick, tells Bishop Spalding about St. Louise de Marillac.

Good Shepherd Church in Decherd kicked off A Legacy of Faith, Hope and Love Campaign at weekend Masses Sept. 10-11. The church's first goal for its parish shares is to create a prayer garden and walkway around the church property, which sits on 12 acres of land.
