Sacred Heart School in Lawrenceburg kicked off its 150th anniversary celebrations with an alumni basketball tournament, Mass, a chili cook-off and the presentation of the first annual Lion Heart Award Saturday, Feb. 4, at the school. Sacred Heart is one of three Catholic communities in Lawrence County that continues to thrive. Father Ryan High School took 79 students to Washington, D.C., Jan. 19-22, to participate in the 50th annual March for Life, as well as collected wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery, visited the Holocaust Museum, the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, and attended Mass celebrated by Cardinal Donald Wuerl, the uncle of Father Ryan senior Arianna Thacker.
